GINETTE J. BOUCHARD, painter

BIOGRAPHY

Painter from St-Hyacinthe, Quebec.

My interest in drawing has been present since my tender age. I followed
a workshop with the painter Jean-Pierre Boivin, teacher at l'École des Beaux-Arts
de Montréal. Following an interest in stagecraft, I studied in set design
at the National Theater School of Canada. Among other things, I became
assistant of Solange Legendre, specialist in wardrobe and set design (1967-1968).
But my love of painting was more important, and I went to study fine arts at
Université du Québec à Montréal (1979). Afterwards, different projects from
public agencies helped me financially to organize art workshops. I started to work
in special education with the elderly, and I worked in that field for many years.
My job consisted in leadership and intervention of elderly with loss
of functional autonomy. Even if my artistic development progressed
behind the scene, working with the elderly gave me a lot of happiness.
My creativity was challenged through different techniques.
Nowadays, I work full-time on my art.
